[BUSAN, SOUTH KOREA] – ‘The Spectra Heist,’ the first animated series from the Web3-based transmedia IP project ‘GEN SOL,’ announced today it has been selected as a finalist in the ‘2024 Animation Planning and Development Competition’ hosted by the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA).
KOCCA’s highly-regarded competition is a prestigious government-backed initiative aimed at vitalizing the foundation for original Korean animation and discovering outstanding new projects. ‘The Spectra Heist’ stood out from a competitive field to be named one of the 12 finalists, earning high praise for its original science-fiction universe targeting young adults, compelling characters, and robust storyline.
‘The Spectra Heist’ is an SF action-drama set in the Ark galaxy, chronicling a father’s journey to save his kidnapped daughter from a powerful empire. Planned as an eight-episode series, it will feature a hybrid 2D/3D production style and cinematic direction, promising a high-quality storytelling experience that differentiates it from other Web3 projects.
This achievement marks another major milestone for the GEN SOL project, following previous recognitions such as the ‘K-Content Innovation Growth Guarantee’ and the Grand Prize at the ‘ICT Business Model Idea Competition,’ reaffirming its potential and competitiveness as recognized by South Korean government bodies.
“We are incredibly excited that the story of ‘The Spectra Heist,’ which will be the core of our IP, has received this recognition,” said Naru, Founder of GEN SOL. “This allows us to accelerate our planning and development, and we are committed to creating a series that delivers deep emotional impact and catharsis to a global audience.”
